Due to the current covid-19 pandemic, Continuing Education work sessions are cancelled until further notice. Thank you for your patience during this time. This is an unprecedented time in BC Education. The health and safety of staff and students are the School District’s top priority right now.
But with many of us stuck at home, perhaps this is an opportunity like no other to make progress in your courses. Many of you already have course packages you can work on at home already or have online coursework you can continue.
All active CE students will be individually contacted to ensure their current learning plan is working under these new circumstances. CE staff will be ready to provide students with new course materials by the week of April 6, 2020.
Here are some tips for working on your coursework at home:
· Set aside some time (maybe one hour) every day to work on your coursework
· Set up a work station in the corner of your room or somewhere away from distraction
· Find an accountability partner to check in with you online to encourage each other and make sure you’re making progress.
Please don’t hesitate to contact CE Staff if you have any questions or concerns.

Adult learners (18 and older) can enroll in this program to take courses as credit towards their Adult Graduation Diploma.
You may also get credit recognition for current or past work competences or completed post-secondary training courses by undertaking a Prior Learning Assessment. Contact us to help with this step. We can review your past work history to determine if it qualifies for course credit.
For most adult students, earning the BC Adult Graduation Diploma (the “Adult Dogwood”) is a fast way to graduation.
Courses are available in a self paced supported program throughout the school year to suit your schedule.
On behalf of the Board of Education, I would like to welcome you to the SD84 (Vancouver Island West) website. Please take a few minutes to explore our site and see how our students, staff, parents and communities come together to pursue our mission:
“In partnership with our diverse communities, School District 84 will provide all students with a quality education relevant to the demands of a modern society.”
